Manasquan Builders Busy Rebuilding Our Shore
Manasquan Builders have been busy rebuilding the shore over the past 8 months since Hurricane Sandy. Even on Sundays and holidays, such as the Fourth of July, builders and contractors in Manasquan were hard at work banging away in the mid-day heat. This article points out that 2013 is the Summer of Bikinis and Hardhats at the Jersey Shore.
Manasquan is a town of about 2 square miles located in southern Monmouth County. The town has about 1 mile of beachfront exposure and many miles of river and canal exposure. If you look at a Google Map of Manasquan, the whole town is surrounded by water. It’s no surprise that many houses and businesses were severely damaged during Sandy.
Manasquan Builders have been busier than ever before in their careers. They have been working holidays and weekends just to keep up and finish projects as soon as possible so Manasquan residents can get back into their homes for at least part of the summer. Many homeowners were looking forward to being in their renovated or rebuilt homes by summer, but it just didn’t work out for everyone. Things take time. Finding the right Manasquan builders and contractors takes time, navigating the confusing FEMA flood maps takes time, filing an insurance claim and getting money from your insurance company takes time, and for many people, finding a public adjuster or law firm to represent you and try to get you more money can take a lot of time.
The homeowners and businesses who had the cash were able to put up their own money and then try to collect from insurance and/or FEMA later. But this is not a luxury for all homeowners, which is why so many people have had to wait.
Manasquan Builders and contractors are doing their best to rebuild and accommodate homeowners’ needs. They have been working in the heat and in close quarters. As you can imagine, Manasquan in the summer is pretty busy. The roads are crowded with cars and people running, walking, riding bikes, or playing catch with a football. Most of the homes are close to one another, and many of them are on the water, which makes access extremely difficult.
It’s great to drive around Manasquan and see that so much of the work has been contracted to local Manasquan builders and contractors. There are plenty of good local contractors in our area and it’s nice to see that they have had the luxury of staying local and helping their neighbors repair and rebuild.
